Gunmen assassinate provincial judge in Nangarhar

According to local authorities in eastern Afghanistan, an Afghan judge was killed along with his niece in eastern Nangarhar province.
Khogyani district chief Haji Mohammad Hassan said, the incident took place on Saturday evening at Barbahar area while Mr. Basir and his wife and his children were on their way to his father in law’s house.
Mr. Hassan further added, Basir was killed during the incident and his wife along with his four children were injured and another family member were injured during the incident..
He also added, the injured individuals were taken to hosptial for the treatment.
According to Khogyani district chief Haji Mohammad Hassan, no suspects have been detained in connection to the incident and Afghan police forces have started investigations.
Khogyani district is considered to be one of the volatile regions in eastern Nangarhar province where armed militants are frequently carrying out insrugency attacks.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
