Ghazni residents expands anti-Taliban war in Andar district

Local residents in Moqor district of eastern Ghazni province started armed campaign against the Taliban militants in this district. This comes as Afghan civilians in Andar district have long been fighting the Taliban militants to drive them out of the area.
According to local authorities in eastern Ghazni province the campaign started on Sunday and several villages were cleared from Taliban militants.
Provincial security chief Zarawar Zahid said local residents started resisting the Taliban militants following the freedom fighters in Andar district.
Mr. Zahid further added a number of local residents in other districts of Ghazni province are due to start campaign against the Taliban militants however he did not disclose the names of the districts.
Residents in Andar district started fight against the Taliban militants after the militants expanded their insurgency activities against the Afghan government and Afghan people in this district.
The local residents fighting the Taliban militants said they education facilities were closed for their children by militants which forced them to pick arms against them.
In the meantime a spokesman for the Taliban group Zabiullah Mujahid denied the reports of local residents campaign against Taliban militants in this province.
Mr. Mujahid said a group of armed people backed by the Afghan government and United States are being formed to fight the Taliban fighters.
