Five architectures of Jalalabad massacre arrested

NDSThe architectures of Jalalabad massacre that according to NDS left 36 people killed and 124 others wounded have been arrested. The group had planned to carry out another deadly terrorist attack on Friday.

The five terrorists were apprehended during special operations by the personnel of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Afghanistan’s intelligence agency.

A statement released to media by NDS on Monday identifies the terrorists as Farmanullah S/O Homayoun a villager of Gandomak village of Shirzad District, Qari Inamullah S/O Naqibullah a villager of Purshahkhil village of Kot District and Mullah at Hazrat Bilal mosque in Behsood District, Shahabullah S/O Mohammad Younas a villager of Batan village of Rodat District, Hameedullah S/O Hafizullah a villager of Hindarni village of Kot District and Abdul Ghafoor alias Sahil S/O Mir Hasan a villager of Pirakhil village of Khogyani District.

The group was also involved in several other terrorist attacks in Nangarhar province including the one on Angiza Shiwari, a member of the provincial council of Nangarhar province.

Angiza Shiwari and his driver lost lives and four other people wounded in the attack in February.

They were behind another suicide attack at the staff vehicle of the instructors of police academy in Jalalabad that left six instructors martyred and four others wounded.

The group had planned to carry out another deadly terrorist attack in grand mosque of custom department of Nangarhar province during Friday prayers.

Although, the statement does not specify what group these terrorists belong to but Taliban militants had claimed responsibility for one of the three attacks mentioned in statement.

Taliban rejected hand in Jalalabad massacre and did not claim responsibility for the attack on Angeza Shinwari but they had claimed responsibility for the attack on the vehicle of the police academy.
