Explosion kill 3 NATO soldiers in eastern Afghanistan

3 NATO troops killed in eastern AfghanistanAt least three NATO service members were killed following roadside improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in eastern Afghanistan on Friday.

NATO-led International Security Assistance Force following a statement on Friday announced, “Two International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today.”

ISAF in a separate statement announced, “An International Security Assistance Force service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today.”

The statements did not disclose further information regarding the exact locations of the incidents and nationalities of the deceased soldiers. It
International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) generally do not disclose identities of the deceased soldiers saying, “is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.”

Troops mainly from United States of America are based in eastern provinces of Afghanistan.

At least 115 NATO service members including 90 US troops, 6 British troops and 19 soldiers from the other NATO member countries have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2013.
