An explosion in capital Kabul left one person dead early Saturday morning, the security officials said.
The incident took place around 6:00 am local time after a gas cylinder went off inside a vehicle in Pul-e-Charkhi area of Kabul city.
Hashmatullah Stanekzai, spokesman for the Kabul security commandment, said the vehicle was totally damaged following the explosion and its driver was killed.
Stanekzai further added that the main reason behind the explosion is not clear so far and an investigation has been launched.
Liquied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders have recently been installed in vehicles in capital Kabul and other provinces of the country.
LPG cylinders with the lower quality and unprofessional set up of the cylinders are said to be the main reasons behind the explosions in vehicles.
