District chief survive from blast in eastern Afghanistan

Khogyani district chief escape roadside bomb blastSyed Abdul Rahman Khogyani district chief escaped an explosion in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan early Saturday morning.

According to reports a security guard of Mr. Syed Abdul Rahman was killed following the blast and two others were injured.

Local security officials yet to comment regarding the reports. No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

This is the second assassination attempt  of high profile officials in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan during the past one week.

Nangarhar province is among the relatively peaceful region in eastern Afghanistan however militants have recently increased their activities in a number of its distircts.
