Deadly suicide blast hits Kunduz province, 15 people killed

A heavy explosion rocked northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan on Monday afternoon.
According to reports the incident took place after a suicide bomber detonated explosives packed inside a vehicle.
The explosion took place in a relatively busy area of central Kunduz city and there are fears of civilians casualties following the blast.
In the meantime provincial governor spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini confirming the report said the incident took place around 3:15 pm local time after a suicide bomber targeted Afghan police forces in Kunduz city, killing at least 15 people including Afghan civilians.
Commander of 303 Pamir Security Commandment in northern Afghanitan Gen. Baba Jan said at least 7 Afghan police officers were killed and five others were injured during the blast.
He said at least 8 Afghan civilians were killed and more than 20 others were injured after the suicide bomber targeted Afghan police forces while they were on their way to Kanam area in order to clean the area from the militants.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
