Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who turns 39 today, is all set to have a grand birthday. She will be receiving the second highest French civilian award ‘Officer Dan Ordre Arts et des Lettres’, in Mumbai today (1.11.2012).
Not the one who was born with a silver spoon in mouth, Aishwarya Rai has achieved success, fame and name in showbiz solely by dint of her hard work, her beauty, and her talent. She’s been reckoned one of the most beautiful women in the world, and she’s the only actress from mainstream Bollywood to become the face of Hindi cinema for the west. She’s worked with the likes of Colin Firth and Steve Martin and just missed out getting paired with Brad Pitt in Troy.
In fact, in a recent interview, Brad Pitt expressed his wish to work with Aishwarya Rai in a Bollywood movie. That very statement speaks volumes about the popularity Ash enjoys in Hollywood.
Though the plans of the birthday celebrations were not revealed officially by the family, media reports suggest that Rai’s husband Abhishek Bachchan has planned for a private family vacation in Goa. The actor is thought to be shooting for his upcoming action thriller sequel, Dhoom 3, in Chicago and reports say he has kept the next two days free to celebrate his wife’s birthday.
Since the former Miss World turned actress is deeply attached to Indian culture and religious activities, she is expected to visit a temple to seek divine blessings on her birthday.
“No formal plans have been made as of now, but knowing Abhishek, he might just surprise Aishwarya with a holiday in Goa, because both of them love the place. However, it won’t be surprising if the family has planned a get-together with some close friends to bring in the birthday as well,” DNA newspaper quoted a source as saying.
Aishwarya Rai’s birthday today is going to be special because she will be honoured with the French award Officer Dan Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters), the second highest French civilian honour. The entire Bachchan family — hubby Abhishek Bachchan, and in-laws Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, and not to miss the little Aaradhya — are going to be by Ash’s side when she accepts the French honour.
