Apple unveils smaller iPhone SE, starting at $399

iPhone SEThe American multinational technology company, Apple Inc., unveiled a small and cheaper iPhone aimed at emerging markets and possibly China.

With a a4-inch (10-cm) screen, the new device, is called iPhone SE and is basically an iPhone 5S body with the guts of an iPhone 6S inside.

The new device represents Apple’s second bid for the crowded mid-tier market after an unsuccessful foray three years ago, according to Reuters.

The order for the new device will be available from 24th March and it’s launching at $399 for a 16GB model while the 64GB model is $499.

Apple unveiled the new device during a small gathering at its Cupertino headquarters and it is expected the product will be available from 31st March, a week after the availability of the orders.

The company also unveiled a new, smaller, iPad Pro to replace the iPad Air 2, besides officially releasing its iOS 9.3 software.

According to reports, the iOS 9.3 includes Night Shift, which makes the screen warmer in colour as the night draws in. It also lets you lock the Notes app with TouchID, and gives you a few new ways of viewing health data.
