INDIA-ARTS-ENTERTAINMENTFilmfare has added a golden hue to its black lady in honour of the Indian film industry completing 100 years of existence.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai uncovered the statue during a special ceremoy in Mumbai and later she was gifted the same.

Aishwarya says it was an honour to receive the trophy without even being nominated for the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards.

“I am feeling very special as this is going to be very different. For the first time, I don’t have any nominations because I didn’t have any releases last year because of the special reason of having Aaradhya,” the actress told reporters at the press conference here.

“Despite having no nominations, I am officially taking home the black lady (Filmfare trophy). I have had the privilege of being nominated throughout the career,” she added.

After almost 17 years in the glamour and film industry, the actress took a break from her busy schedule to give birth to her daughter Aaradhya, who turned one on November 16, 2012.

Aishwarya had received her first Filmfare award for her role of a Gujarati girl in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. The 39-year-old said that receiving that first award felt akin to holding an Oscar.

The 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2012 ceremony will be held at YRF Studios, Andheri, on January 20. The nation’s leading popular film awards will observe its 60th anniversary in 2014.
