Afghan soldier open fire on Spanish PRT in Badghis

According to local authorities in western Badghis province of Afghanistan, an Afghan national army soldier on Saturday attacked a provincial reconstruction team belonging to Spanish troops in this province.
The officials further added the assailant Afghan army soldier was killed following the incident and a 12 year old Afghan boy was injured.
A local security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said, the incident took place after the Afghan army officer opened fire on Spanish troops provincial reconstruction team security guards.
He said, the Spanish troops security guards did not suffer following the attack but the assailant Afghan soldier was killed.
The main reason behind the incident is still unclear.
This comes as two Spanish troops along with one of their interpreters were killed following an insider attack in Qala-e-Naw in Badghis province however this is the first green-on-blue attack attempt by an Afghan soldier in this province during the recent months.
Spanish provincial reconstruction team has been active in western Badghis province of Afghanistan over the past few years and is involved in development and public welfare projects.
