Afghan police kill 33 Taliban militants following operations

Afghan interior ministry following a press release on Sunday announced at least 33 Taliban militants were killed following military operations by Afghan national police forces during the past 24 hours.

The source further added Afghan national police forces conducted 10 military operations in cooperation with the Afghan army, Afghan intelligence and coalition security forces. The operations were conducted at Kabul, Laghman, Parwan, Helmand, Uruzgan and Farah provinces of Afghanistan.

Interior ministry officials following the press release also added at least 6 Taliban militants were injured and 9 others were detained during the military operations.

Afghan security forces seized 240 kilograms of opium and some weapons, ammunition and explosives including 36 magazines of ammo, 56 improvised explosive device, 5 hand grenades, 90 kilograms of chemicals and 4 motorcycles during the operations, interior ministry officials said.

Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
