Afghan president Hamid Karzai met with the Afghan athletes who participated in London Olympics and awarded the high level state medal of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan to Taekwondo athlete Rohullah Nikpa.
Rohullah Nikpa was the only Afghan athlete who achieved Bronz medal for Afghanistan during London Olympics 2012.
He was the first Afghan athlete who achieved the first Olympics medal for Afghanistan during Beijing Olympics in 2008.
President Hamid Karzai also awarded the medal of Mir Masjidi Khan to Bashir Taraki the Afghan coach and Afghan Taekwondo coach from South Korea.
Rohullah Nikpa also presented his sports uniform to Afghan president Hamid Karzai, which was worn by him during the London and Beijing Olympics.
Six Afghan athletes participated in London Olympics in different fields including Taekwondo, running and boxing however Rohullah Nikpa managed to defeat his rivals from Poland, Central African Republic and United Kingdom and achieved Bronze medla for Afghanistan.
Rohullah Nikpa was also another Afghan athlete who participated in Taekwondo championships in London Olympics however he could not achieve any medal for Afghanistan due to his injuries but he was he was given the title of the bravest athlete in London Olympics by a number of local and offshore media agencies.
Afghan president Hamid Karzai also praised Rohullah Nikpa, Tahmina Kohistani the only Afghan female athlete who participated in London Olympics, Ajmal Faisal and Ajmal Faizi Zada.
