Afghan Intelligence Chief escape suicide bombing attack

According to reports Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) Chief Asadullah Khalid escaped a suicide bomb blast in capital Kabul on Thursday.

The suicide bomber was reportedly looking to attack the convoy of the vehicles of Afghan Intelligence Chief Asadullah Khalid.

The incident took place in between Qala-e-Fatullah and Taimany area of capital Kabul on Thursday afternoon where Assadullah Khalid got bodily injuries.

Official confirmed Mr. Khalid was transferred to NDS hospital and is under operation.

Afghan President, Hamid Karzai visited NDS hospital and said in a video message, “Afghan Intelligence Chief has got injuries in a terrorism act and he is currently under a surgery operation in the NDS hospital.”

Afghan president added, “Assadullah Khalid will be transferred to a more convenient location after primary medical care.”

Unconfirmed reports suggest the assassination attempt was similar to Burhanuddin Rabbani’s assassination last year.
