Twin blasts injures 1 in Kandahar province

Wednesday, November 02, 2011 – According to local authorities in southern Afghanistan, at least one Afghan police officer was injured in a twin bomb explosion in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday.
The officials further added, the first explosion took place in 7th district of southern Kandahar province around 10:00 am on Wednesday morning, targeting an Afghan police vehicle.
Provincial governor Media office following an statement confirming the incident said, the explosion took place as a result of a roadside bomb which was already planted by militants.
The statement further added, at least one police officer was injured as a result of the explosion.
In the meantime, another explosion targeted an Afghan police vehicle in the 5th district of southern Kandahar province, in Khawajak-Baba area causing no human casualty.
No group including the Taliban militants have so claimed responsibility behind the twin bomb explosions.
Taliban militants group fighting the Afghan government and coalition forces in the country frequently use Improvised Explosive Device and roadside bombs as their weapon of choice to target Afghan and coalition forces.
