42 Taliban militants killed in Afghan operations

Afghan Interior Ministry following a statement on Monday announced at least 42 Taliban militants were in various operations across the country during the past 24 hours.

The source further added, the militants were killed in 8 separate military operations conducted by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army, Afghan Intelligence (National Directorate for Security) and International Coalition Security Forces.

The operations were conducted at Laghman, Nangarhar, Zabul, Balkh, Kandahar, Helmand, Khost and Ghazni provinces of Afghanistan.

Interior Ministry officials also said, at least 1 Taliban militant was injured and 37 others were detained during the military operations.

Afghan security forces also seized some weapons, ammunitions and explosives including 4 landmines, 17 barrels of explosives and 28 rounds of artillery rounds during the military operations.

Taliban militants groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
